Barry Dobb, owner of Today’s Home & Leisure Products, Inc is very interested in where business is heading as the world of commerce continues to change.
Barry and all the employees at Today’s Home & Leisure are very customer and service orientated. He isn’t shy about getting involved and understands what it means to get the job done. Whether it’s setting a new company policy, taking on a new product line or dealing with customer service matters; he is committed to his customers, suppliers and staff to “get it done”.
Barry stated that their mission statement is simple and practical, “Today’s Home & Leisure is committed to developing strong lifelong relationships with each of our valued customers built on mutual respect and trust, while providing a level of personalized service not often seen in the industry.”
Today’s Home & Leisure is a family owned business. Working with his wife Michele at his side, the business grew to include his son Michael who shares the same values.
Barry looks back to January 1991, when he began doing business as Today’s Vacuum Systems, Inc., selling and installing central vacuum systems through builders, remodelers, home shows and referrals by satisfied customers.
The business was growing significantly when in 1994 he opened the first showroom in the Windsor Park Shopping Center in Mechanicsburg, PA.
To supplement the Central Vacuum business, Barry added Miele portable vacuums and repairs in addition to premium charcoal, gas and specialty grills from Weber and shortly thereafter Napoleon Grills.
In 1998, Barry changed the name to Today’s Home & Leisure Products, Inc to better describe the business after adding home theater, distributed audio and other low voltage products to their lineup.
Today’s Home & Leisure has evolved into a very successful full service one stop low voltage integration company unlike any other in the area concentrating on service with all work being performed by well qualified and trained employees.
Today’s Home & Leisure soon outgrew it’s Windsor Park showrooms. In February 2012 Barry purchased their current showroom located at 5248 E Trindle Road in Mechanicsburg allowing them to better display their entire line of new and innovative products.
Now in it’s 26th year of business, Today’s Home & Leisure has come a long way with Michael taking over the estimating and designing of most home theater and home automation projects in addition to many other aspects of this second generation business. Jennifer, Michael’s wife, now works in this successful second generation venture assisting Michele with her administration duties.
